Organic White sage from the coastal mountains of Cali. This is a broad leaf sage which is prized for its rich aromatic properties. These large bundles are approximately 20" to 22" inches in length.
White sage has a multitude of medicinal uses, its one of the most sacred herbs among indigenous North American peoples. The clean burning sage is used in the energy cleansing ritual known as smudging (or purification), which in theory means the smoke would attach itself to the negative energy of the area and cleanse it so that it becomes positive energy.
Sage is burned to clear a space of negative energy, feelings, and even spirits. It purifies the space & restores balance. This is referred to as ''smudging.'' You just light the tip on fire, blow out the flame, and let it smolder.
Negative energies get caught in places especially corners. When smudging your house work in a counterclockwise direction from the entryway or door you choose to leave open to banish the negativity. Smudging yourself is also done before rituals & spell casting.
Light the end of the bundle, let the flame go out and use a feather or blow on the end to keep it smoking. Use the sage to clear your room of any lingering negative energy, or use before a magic rite to purify and cleanse the area.
